Ishay Green's Social Startup

Reformed head protester Ishay Green is back in the studio again, trying to get protest leader Moshe Radman Abutbul ??? ???? ??????? ???? to join him on the air, and meet the presenters he hates with a passion. Why does he hate them so much? Because they're different than him. But Ishay is insisting that they're good people and that he'll like them once he gets to know them.

My Commentary

We're seeing an incredible thing here in this clip. On October 6th we could have only fantasized about seeing these two people in the studio together - not what you see in the thumbnail above but rather Ishay Green in the studio with the presenter from Tov.

Above their opinions a very special human / social connection is being formed - because these two individuals want to get along.

Of course it came at an extremely high price. But if we're talking about what's good for developing toward our better future - then the sacrifice of our brave soldiers will have been worth it. And let's not forget for a second that they are still out there sacrificing themselves for us! So this is the best way to repay them.

What's we're seeing here is a new kind of venture that we're not too familiar with - a genuine social startup. We don't really know how to approach this directly so this is how we're going about it in the meantime. But this is an example that's worth taking a good look at to learn something about ourselves.

We're seeing two people speaking in a polite and friendly manner. Each have their own opinions and perspective, because they're both looking for ways to solve the very complicated challenges we're all facing these days.

The two sides may not really mix - just like oil and water don't mix. Yet above their opinions a very special human / social connection is being formed - because these two individuals want to get along. Despite their differences they know they have to learn to get along. That's the whole point of this crisis we're going through. For everyone to evolve to that point where they realize this is the most important thing.

It's like having a two-storey building. On the first floor we do all the criticizing, presenting all our opinions, etc. But why are we doing all this? In order to build stronger connections between us on the second floor.

We can criticize and have our own opinions, but we can overlay all that division with everything we have in common.

Just to clarify - we're not criticizing to hate each other, curse each other and protest against each other. Just the opposite! We can criticize and have our own opinions, but we can overlay all that division with everything we have in common. And this is how we strengthen our connection - exactly the way these two people from such different parts of the country are doing so pleasantly in the studio. We can even look at it a bit objectively and find humor in this whole drama playing out.

They're not even really talking as individuals but both are rather focused on what's good for Israel. And this is far more important than anyone's opinions.

It's good to hear the opinions to understand where everyone is coming from and how they're feeling. And we can take all that to build stronger and more complex relations between us at the next / higher stage of our development. Compared to where we were on October 6, which was a real low point where our whole country was in a disgraceful place. And now we're trying to put all the pieces back together, and use that as a foundation to connect in a superior way than how we were connected before.

And when I say "superior" I'm of course referring to how we were at the beginning of the war - how we suddenly cared about each other and went out of our way to help each other. That's what an exemplary society is supposed to be like all the time. That is Israel's true brand. Our true essence.
