iShares SOXX ETF is Down, Do I Buy on the Dip?

Buying on the dip is great when the stock rises after you buy it. Knowing what will rise next is a gamble no one can really prognosticate. What you can do though, is look historically at the events that shape the market and our economy, and make good educated guesses at what might happen next.
Take clean energy for example. In an administration that is pressing to increase funding for clean energy, it only stands to reason that over time, clean energy investments are likely to do well - now, which of the clean energy companies will thrive is harder to pinpoint.
Other things that seem a more sensible bet over time are semiconductors. These marvels of technology propel our computers, our cars, so many of the devices that we use in our day to day lives.
The iShares SOXX ETF includes a number of US semiconductor stocks. Look at highs and lows over time to see what really constitutes a dip, and you might earn a nice return in an investment in this particular ETF.
