ISBP Education Project
It is acknowledged that there is definite demand for the ISBP publication to be made more easily accessible to the market; whilst most documentary credit practitioners have access to UCP, this is often not the case for ISBP.
With this in mind, an Education Project has been established. https://www.tradefinance.training/blog/articles/isbp-education-project/
Retired - at last!
6 个月I wish you the very best of luck! It will be a miracle if you can get ICC publishing to agree to reduce their exhorbitant prices for their key publications which, after all, were written by volunteers at very little cost to the ICC. At the very first meeting of the Incoterms 2020 Drafting Group it was agreed that we would not progress with the task until the ICC agreed to price the book at around USD10. Two very senior ICC managers met with us and agreed so we completed the task over several more meetings and very many email exchanges. The ICC failed to reduce the price when it released the book. I have almost zero confidence that they will do anything about reducing the prices on their key income earners now.

6 个月A tip for document checkers : If you have any doubts when reading UCP 600, BEFORE considering a document as discrepant, look for possible clarification in the ISBP.

6 个月But unfortunately and factually people who are into scrutiny of lc documents or issuance of letters of credit have not even read the ISBP once. Even if it's made accessible, most bankers will preserve it like gold but would not even care to read it.

6 个月True. Simultaneously, the prices of most of the ICC publications, including the ISBP, should also be drastically reduced.
