iSatelliti: an evolution since 1986

In 1986, UniFor designed iSatelliti. Born as an accessory furniture line for accommodating the bulky electronic equipment that would continue to pervade the office in the years to come, iSatelliti aimed to respond to the functional needs of each machine with simple, effective, discreet, and colorful objects.

Since the very beginning, every iSatelliti element has featured a solid structure, height adjustability, in manual and battery-powered versions, and a design that allows for user assembly, making the various models suitable for home and office alike.

With the introduction of model S200 in the first half of the 1990s, iSatelliti evolved from individual elements to complete workstations

The first S200 workstations were conceived as a series of height-adjustable elements for group configurations, completed by tops with concave front edges, privacy panels, and drawer pedestals. In the second half of the 1990s, a service column was added for the power supply, together with a series of components for customising each workstation.

The S200 groupable workstations were designed to adapt to various configurations in both open-space and closed offices, delineating forms, functions, and working styles.

To meet the changing needs of the 2000s, the series was further developed so that it became capable of responding with simple solutions to the complex organizational problems of the contemporary workplace.

In addition to island configurations, linear configurations became possible, with tables that could be raised and lowered manually or electrically to suit different work modalities.

As the iSatelliti series and model S200 have continued to evolve over the years, height-adjustability has remained a design constant. Sophisticated manual and electric mechanisms ensure the user maximum freedom of use.

The current version of iSatelliti S200 also allows the system to be reconfigured over time. In addition to linear configurations, the series now includes individual workstations that can be fitted with privacy panels and accessories.

Highly flexible in terms of both assembly and adjustability, the iSatelliti S/200 series is easily adaptable to different work environments and modalities.

iSatelliti S200 workstations are the distinguishing elements of several interior design projects furnished by UniFor, like the Sydney head office of the Investa Group, one of Australia’s largest commercial real estate companies.

Within this context, the fit-out of iSatelliti includes double version workstations and made-to-measure configurations featuring electric-powered sit-to-stand height adjustment, allowing each user to quickly adapt their desk to their current needs.?
