Isaiah Group Rocks the Bene?ov Library

More than Just Stocking Books

In a world where small acts of kindness can ripple into profound impacts, the Isaiah House students embraced this ethos with gusto during their latest service project. Venturing into the heart of Bene?ov, they transformed a simple library reorganization into an unforgettable day of camaraderie, discovery, and heartfelt service.

This week, students from the Isaiah House embarked on their group Service Project. Isaiah group members traveled to Bene?ov to reorganize bookshelves and assist the local library.

Helping Out, Having Fun

The Isaiah Group showed up ready to work! They tackled mountains of books, reorganizing shelves on the fourth floor of the library. They also hauled boxes upstairs and straightened books, proving you don’t need textbooks to learn a thing or two.

More Than Just Moving Books

But this project was about way more than just sorting and stacking. Damaris , from Mexico, hit the nail on the head. “I heard a quote once that said, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ By just arranging books on the shelves and seeing the face of the director, how grateful she was for that act of service, made me feel that even the small things matter,” she said.

Seeing the librarian’s face light up after all the hard work was the best reward – a reminder that even small things can make a big difference.

Unexpected Discoveries

Samuel , from Brazil, found a whole new meaning to this seemingly ordinary task. Chatting with the librarian, he learned something surprising. It turns out the public library in Bene?ov plays a vital role in helping people escape and find solace in a good book, perhaps even aiding their recovery. Samuel said, “What initially seemed like a simple project turned out to be a life-saving initiative. Talking with the librarian was the best part.”

A Blast of a Day

For Mack , a bookworm from the US, this project was a dream come true. Sure, she couldn’t exactly curl up with a Czech novel, but working alongside her Isaiah Group buddies was amazing. Shelving books while talking and listening to music turned into fun and laughter. It was a great day filled with friendship and giving back. She said, “The project helped our group get closer to each other.”

The Isaiah Group’s library project is a perfect example of how helping out can be awesome. It shows that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact, making the world a better place, one bookshelf (and maybe a few dance moves) at a time.
