The Irrelevance of Projects
The strategy was carefully designed, and executed with well-managed projects.
Yet, the other candidate won - despite continuous ramblings, legal issues, and a poor track record.
Someone (often misattributed to Peter Drucker) said that
Culture eats Strategy for breakfast
Is it inevitable?
Doesn't it also mean that Strategy feeds Culture, and inevitably influences it? That's my opinion about why Culture trumps Strategy, and what you can do to increase the chances of success in your initiatives.
The interactions between culture, strategy, and projects play out at different levels. For projects and project portfolios, it's the interdependencies. I had the pleasure to be interviewed by PPM Core about one of my favorite topics, the management of project dependencies within a portfolio as well as from within a single project.
Thanks for being here
