Looking back 2023
In 2023, we expanded our reach, mobilizing nearly 400 interviewers who traveled across 52 provinces, covering both urban and deep rural areas.
Our activities are increasingly focused on delivering high-quality research, and we are proud to have renowned and demanding Research Institutes and International Organizations as our main partners. This collaboration has allowed us to provide high-quality data about Vietnam for investment and decision-making purposes.
In May 2023, the Indochina Research Vietnam team participated in the launch of the 2022 Vietnam Time Use Survey, which was our largest project for the World Bank to date. It covered 6,000 households across 400 randomly selected wards in 40 provinces. Thanks to this initiative in Vietnam, data is now available to improve policies and develop services that support women's greater contributions to society.
We are grateful for our involvement in this significant research project. The World Bank provides access to the survey data and you can find out more about our involvement in this project on our website article.
In July, we were delighted to present the findings from our consumer research on the perception of electric vehicles (EVs) in Vietnam during a workshop organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
This study was a part of the technical assistance provided under the USD 135 million financing package from the ADB to support VinFast in establishing Vietnam's first fully electric public bus fleet and a national charging infrastructure. VinFast is the leading EV manufacturer in Vietnam.
Indochina Research Vietnam is grateful for the opportunity to conduct this significant research, supporting Vietnam's initiatives towards achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and fostering the growth of high-tech manufacturing industries.
Methodology: Hotspot Survey in key cities
In 2023, we relaunched our Hotspot survey methodology, employing an innovative approach to conducting surveys in densely populated areas, such as walking streets, office buildings, and shopping centers, to collect high-quality and ultra-fast consumer research.
Using this method, we efficiently gathered 600 high-quality samples in just five days across two key cities.
This methodology showcases our ability to collect ultra-fast and reliable data, offering our clients the following advantages:
·??????? Ultra-fast data collection: Fieldwork was completed in 5 days, including 2 weekends.
·??????? Access to a representative population: easier access for middle- and upper-middle-class consumers.

·??????? Reliable data: real respondents, enumerator-assisted interviews, digital data acquisition to accurately capture responses, and live quality control.

2023 WIN APAC Meeting: Innovation In Research
In October 2023, we were honoured to host the WIN Network APAC members meeting in Hanoi.
With the overarching theme, “Innovation in Research,” the meeting?brought to life presentations by research experts from the WIN Global Network and our esteemed partners.?
With 60 participants and guests from 9 APAC countries, globally renowned speakers, and two successful days of knowledge sharing and networking, the regional meeting was a definite success! We extend a special thank you to Mrs. Vilma Scarpino, WIN Global Network President, for making time to join us from Italy and share her experience.
As the WIN APAC Meeting 2023 concluded, the value of our collaboration and collective learning became ever more evident to our regional staff. This event was not merely a meeting but a vibrant testament to the power of shared knowledge and cooperative efforts to conduct innovative research across the Asia-Pacific region.
Heartfelt thanks are due to each participant, the WIN Global Network, and our esteemed partners for their role in fostering this spirit of unity and mutual learning. The journey of innovation in research is enriched by such collaborations, and we eagerly look forward to future gatherings to enhance and celebrate our regional connections.
Presentation videos of the meeting are available upon request; check out the program here.
Looking forward to 2024
As we kick off 2024, we are excited to embark on some fascinating research related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and governance) practices among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) involved in the global supply chain. This research is part of a regional study, and its outcomes will lay the groundwork for creating support programs aimed at fostering the growth of these enterprises in Vietnam.
Additionally, we are proud to continue our collaboration with the World Bank by conducting an extensive household survey to gather valuable insights into the lives of people living in the Mekong Delta region. The survey aims to interview members of 5,000 households across all 13 provinces of the region. It will also delve into the specifics of migrant workers through an additional sample of 1,000 interviews conducted by telephone.
Indochina Research Vietnam Team: Memorable Moments in 2023
In September 2023, our overall Vietnam Team, including members from Hanoi, HCM, Danang, and Can Tho, joined together for a memorable company trip to Bali, Indonesia. This excursion served as a wonderful opportunity for us to reconnect?before entering Quarter 4, widely recognized as the "peak season" of the year. During our time in Bali, we not only celebrated and discovered a new culture but also collaborated to brainstorm ways to enhance our practices as our activities continue to evolve and grow. In late January 2024, we celebrated with our leading part time staff (interviewers and Qc,..) the end of the year and reflected on the accomplishments and milestones of 2023 to collectively set sights on a more successful year 2024. We are grateful for all the knowledge and experienced learn from working with all our global and local partners who value our dedicated work. We are proud to support you and Vietnam's economic and social development.
Thank you and happy new year 2024 of the Dragon !
