IRL 2023

IRL is an opportunity for our team members across the country to step away from their work, pack their bags, don their favorite Loupe swag, and enjoy some uninterrupted time together. Gathering in-person has been a longstanding priority for Loupe, and is designed to strengthen our connections, renew mental health, and recenter our shared values and purpose. This year's IRL was held in October, and we were privileged to spend time together in the great outdoors.

Loupe IRL 2023: Into the Wild

This year's installment was held in Sisters, Oregon at the Suttle Lodge and Boathouse. Having the entire resort to ourselves made for a Disneyland-esque experience -- all sources of entertainment were at our fingertips! S'mores around the campfire, hikes along the lake and early morning cold plunges were just a few of the highlights.

Hackathon: The Sculpture Garden

When 30+ of us get together, there's a hefty amount unbridled creativity. And what better way to channel that energy than with a team hackathon? This year, our hackathon had one prompt:?build a sculpture garden.?Minimal supplies were provided (cardboard sheets, cutters, screws, and pencils) and team members were encouraged to let creative constraints fuel the work. The result was four hours of fervid cutting, testing, laughing, pivoting and of course, a walk through our cardboard sculpture garden to showcase our efforts.

Togetherness is a big deal. And if, like us, your team hasn't had much face-to-face time in a couple years, we encourage finding ways to make it happen.
