Irish Hotel Market Briefing Released By JLL And Crowe

Hospitality Ireland is the industry magazine for the Irish food service and on-trade drinks sectors.
JLL and Crowe's annual Irish hotel market briefing was held this week, at the InterContinental Ballsbridge Hotel. Speaking to over 120 industry guests were Daniel O’Connor, EVP, JLL, and Aiden Murphy, partner, Crowe. The special guest speaker was John Brennan, chairman of Klarent Hospitality. The event was opened by John Moran, CEO of JLL Ireland.
The full line-up has been announced for this year’s Food On The Edge, which will take place on 17 and 18 October, with the twin themes of disruption and regeneration. Food On The Edge founder JP McMahon said, “The way in which we conceive disruption can force us to reconsider the ways in which we have acted previously.”
Adare Manor has been named ‘#1 Resort in the World’ at the 2022 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards. The annual awards have commended Co. Limerick’s Adare Manor as the best resort in the world for offering guests a unique experience, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, the only 111SKIN spa and clinic in Ireland, and an 840-acre estate with outdoor countryside pursuits.
Castle Leslie Estate has won the award for Ireland’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2022 at the World Travel Awards. The awards took place at a gala ceremony at the new Hilton Mallorca Galatzo. Speaking after the win, CEO Brian Baldwin said, “I couldn’t be more proud! To receive this award is a fantastic achievement. The team at Castle Leslie Estate is what makes this all happen. Without their hard work and their commitment to each and every guest to make their experience magical, this simply would not happen. Sincere thanks to everyone who voted for us.”
A new four-star, 140-bedroom Maldron hotel has opened on Dublin’s Merrion Road. The Maldron Hotel Merrion Road is operated by Dalata Hotel Group Plc as part of a unique mixed-use development constructed by McAleer & Rushe, which included the construction of 64 apartments, five townhouses, and a basement car park, where the hotel has access to 68 car-parking spaces, offering a discounted parking rate to guests.
Ireland has been named the friendliest country in Europe by the readers of travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller. Condé Nast Traveller asked its readers to decide on their favourite countries, cities, hotels and resorts around the globe in its annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey. The magazine has unveiled the results of its 2022 survey – taken by hundreds of thousands of its readers – including its list of Europe’s friendliest countries, where readers felt most welcome. Beating off competition from other popular destinations like Portugal, Greece, Iceland and Türkiye, Ireland was voted number one.
