Irene Wang: Winner of the 2023 Super STAR Award

Congratulations to Irene Wang, a recent recipient of our SuperSTAR Award. This award was created to reflect and celebrate 12 months of team member contributions and to highlight our ways of working and brand behaviours. To celebrate Irene's achievements this year, we asked her to share more about her career.

From a marketing background, Irene has been with us at Hearing Australia since 2018 in a variety of roles. This included Customer Services Officer, Clinical Assistant and Community Hearing Advisor.

Currently, she works as a CX Designer, using her diverse experience to improve and enhance our clients' hearing journeys. This role consists of identifying problems and finding solutions when it comes to clients' experiences. On a typical workday, she gathers and analyses data, using design thinking techniques to address issues, and test and implement solutions.

Irene discussed how she enjoys being part of a team dedicated to driving positive change, particularly within an organisation that fosters positive teamwork and places a high value on its employees. She notes how this workplace culture benefits everyone, empowering herself and fellow employees to provide better care to clients while maintaining long-term job satisfaction.

When asked about her most memorable career milestone, she shared her achievement of convincing a record 556 new clients to start their hearing journey in the last financial year. She was glad to have made a positive impact in the community and brought sustainability to the company at the same time. In addition to this, her conversations with thousands of potential clients provided a valuable understanding of client needs, building a great foundation for her current role.

Irene describes winning the award as a tremendous honour and a source of motivation as she continues contributing to a wonderful team she's grateful to be part of.
