IRCC issues more Express Entry invitations to PNP candidates

Latest Express Entry Draw - February 17, 2025        

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw, marking the third invitation round in February 2025.

If you have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw, you will have 60 days to submit your complete application for permanent residence (PR). Missing this deadline will result in the expiration of your ITA.

• Number of Invitations Issued: 646
• Minimum CRS Score Required: 750
• Rank Required to Be Invited: 646 or above
• Tie-breaking Rule: Profiles submitted before July 23, 2024, at 17:41:11 UTC were considered.

What is an Express Entry PNP Draw?

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces to select skilled workers from the Express Entry pool who meet their labor market needs. Candidates who receive a PNP nomination get an additional 600 CRS points, significantly increasing their chances of securing an ITA for permanent residence.

• In 2024, IRCC conducted 14 PNP-specific draws.
• A total of 52 Express Entry draws were held in 2024, inviting 98,903 candidates for PR.

What’s Next for Express Entry Candidates?

If you were not invited in this draw, don’t worry! Your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Keep your profile updated and do not withdraw your application, as you may receive an ITA in a future draw.

Express Entry draws typically occur bi-weekly, but unpredictable patterns in 2024 and early 2025 make it challenging to predict the next draw date. Stay prepared!

Processing Time & Expectations

Currently, 80% of Express Entry applications are being processed within 8 to 10 months. Ensure that you have all required documents ready for submission if you receive an ITA.
