Iranian Regime’s Ministry of Intelligence Intensifies Arrests of PMOI Supporters and Issues Death Sentences
The Iranian regime's Ministry of Intelligence has escalated the arrests of PMOI supporters and their families as a measure to suppress social movements and uprisings. Simultaneously, the judiciary has started issuing death sentences and lengthy prison terms to intimidate dissent. These actions, which reveal the regime's anxiety and instability under the current conditions, are taking place alongside the show trial of 104 members of the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance.
On October 22, the court’s presiding judge, Dehghani, announced, "All assets of the PMOI are to be identified and confiscated. Any transactions involving these assets or any legal entities related to the organization will be prohibited and subject to seizure and legal prosecution."
Previously, in Mid-September, three PMOI supporters were sentenced to death. On October 6, the trial of seven political prisoners, accused of “waging war against God” and membership in the PMOI—charges punishable by death—began after months of interrogation and torture.
