iQ Networks and GBI (Gulf Bridge International) Signed Iraq's First IRU Dark Fibre Framework Agreement

On January 7th 2025, iQ Networks, a subsidiary of iQ Group, signed Iraq’s inaugural dark fibre IRU framework agreement with Gulf Bridge International in Baghdad. This landmark deal is a pivotal move towards establishing Iraq as an essential telecommunications hub.

The ceremony was in the presence of the Iraqi Ministry of Telecommunications, who partner iQ through the Iraqi segment of the Transit.

The event also celebrated the achievement of surpassing over 1 terabit of capacity so quickly on the Silk Route Transit, underscoring the impressive potential and reliability of iQ’s infrastructure. Numerous companies, including Gulf Bridge International , are already utilizing capacity on this route, while others are in active testing phase.
