IQ of this Generation

A few tiny scratches were left on our new car after my 5-year-old daughter slammed into it while riding her bike in my parking lot. She was terrified that I would yell at her, so she didn't even scream when blood started seeping from her knee. While all of this was going on in the parking lot, my wife asked me to see where she was, and I responded that she would be in the parking area, but there was no indication of her driving her bike. She has the tendency to sing when driving her bike, and there was no indication of any sound coming from my parking lot, so that cracked me up, and I immediately walked outside to see her. She was trying to staunch the flow of blood as she sat next to the car. When I saw the blood, I became concerned and asked her what had happened. She told me she had slipped, harmed herself and was hurt, but didn't reveal that she slammed the car with her bike, resulting in an injury, I took her inside and got her first aid supplies. I had a sneaking suspicion that something wasn't right, so I gently inquired, but she didn't respond. I then asked my wife to talk to her so that I could better understand it. My wife was able to get everything out of her, which made me realize that the way I vent-out has given her the impression that I will yell at her.

I took her to the park the same night after realizing all of this and made her play, calming her down so that I could get her into my zone. To begin with, I told her not to worry about the car's scratches since I would be more concerned if she was hurt. Even if something happened to the car, we could get a new one. I then told her not to worry and that I would not scold her as she was important and not the car. I asked her to be honest with me if something like this happened to her again in the future.

In the parking lot a month later, she was riding her bike in the parking lot and my wife was there along with the younger one, who advised her with all curiosity that she shouldn't be hitting the car this time. She immediately said, "No need to worry Amma, Appa will get a new car, he has told me not to worry if I hit the car, and Appa will be worried if I get wounded". When she said this, we couldn't stop laughing, and for a split second, she was taken aback to see us doing so.

Amazingly,?this?generation?connects the dots?and?plans?ahead?at?such?a?breakneck clip.
