So I had an iPhone 7.

I had not updated from iOS 10. Apps started not working. The phone was slowing down. Battery life was awful.

I backed up to the latest version of iTunes on my win7 pro laptop, and updated to iOS 11. Update worked - but wouldn't restore backup. Tried various ways and means - no joy.

Went to the Apple Store.

'What's that?'

'You on Vista?'

5 seconds later I was advised that the fix for the issue was to back up the backup file to an external HDD and then install win 10 pro and then reinstall iTunes.

'iTunes just doesn't work with windows'

Ok then.

I'll restore my backup in my own time but it's the last Apple product I'll be buying.

Got a Pixel2 - it's great!

So, a week or two into my pixel 2 experience!

Better phone IMO but some issues:

1. side buttons are quite form fitting, and android screenshot is a little harder than iphone - may just be learning curve for me

2. hard to get decent wallet case, due to rear fingerprint button, usual wallet cases not good

3. much better screen and camera than iphone 7

4. BUT no autoresizing of photos for email - shocking omission IMO

5. would love one touch button for mute (option to have on pull down window would be great)

6. would be nice to use squeeze for screenshot (cant hotkey squeeze)

7. no autofills!! (has the option, doesnt work)

Any tips or solutions gladly accepted!
