iphiGenia night 2023
international Gender Design Network - iGDN
Das iGDN f?rdert und fordert gendersensibles Design in Theorie und Praxis. Fu?r intelligentes Design ohne Stereotype!
Thursday night more than 160 guests were celebrating the incredible winners of the Gender Design Award ?iphiGenia 2023?!
The MAKK Cologne hosted the iGDN award for the fifth time, we are very grateful to Dr. Petra Hesse and her team from the Museum. We also thank the Department of Urban Development, Economy, Digitalization and Regional Affairs, especially the Office for economic development of Stadt K?ln, who generously have been supporting our international work, so we can carry our messages to the world.
Special thanks goes to Prof. Dr. Sabine Oertelt-Prigione, who captivated the audience with her eyeopening keynote. Oertelt-Prigione is a renowned and inspiring pioneer in gender medicine education and a true networker to our network.
Prof. Dr. em. Uta Brandes, founder and honorary chair of the iGDN, took us on time journey back to the very beginning of the Gender Design Network ten years ago until todays finely woven and strongly growing net around the world.
We would like to express our special thanks to?jury member Prof. Griselda Flesler, who traveled twice from Argentina to Cologne this year. Her advanced perspective of gender issues of her country contributed irreplaceably valuable input and discourses to the jury and the entire network. Also Natalia Laclau, one of our winners, needs to be mentioned and admired for her great efforts to connect with several NGOs in Germany during her stay in Germany.
And last but not least, we were very pleased to welcome the Argentinian Consul Nazareno Mu?oz at the award event and as a friend of our work!
They all and more guests and iGDN organizers came to honor the outstanding talents and their creativity which were showcased in three categories:
The category "Evolution" is aimed at established or young companies, agencies and initiatives that are explicitly committed to gender-sensitive design and whose work combines a comprehensive, convincing approach to this topic with a very good understanding of design. The category "Revolution" focuses on concrete products (or initiatives, campaigns, digital design, services, etc.). With the category "Volition" the jury responds to the large number of student projects submitted to the iphiGenia Gender Design Awards.
This years' awarded works show a great bandwidth, each taking into account specific age-groups and different personal spaces: from intimate to public.
