iPad — The Writer’s Paradise!
What is a writer’s high?
A flow state is when your ideas easily convert into words.
The keyboard is an important tool for a writer and nothing is better than the iPad with the Magic Keyboard.
I have been using it for four years, and man, nothing beats the satisfaction one can get after a nice session on that keyboard.
I have a plethora of amazing laptops and Macs -
All are newer than my four-year-old iPad, but still, 50% of my writing happens on my iPad Pro.
A few days back, my son started going to school. He is in the pre-toddler group, and the school asked one of the parents to accompany him for the first week.
I do most of my work in the mornings, hence I had to accompany my device with me so that I could sneak into my writer mode.
I took the iPad for a week amongst all my devices.
I have a 2020 model iPad Pro 12.9 inch with a Magic Keyboard.
And let me explain why I call it a writer’s paradise and why it is always with me wherever I go.
Reading
As a writer, I consume a lot of content which is majorly on the internet. The only non-screen indulgence is books.
I strongly believe that to be a good writer one needs to be a better reader.
I use my iPad to consume most of the stuff. And I use it without any accessories.
I have tried reading on a laptop, Mac, PC & foldable smartphone. Nothing is near to the experience of reading on an iPad.
It’s euphoria.
Even after so many years of this kind of indulgence, still it feels fresh and enjoyable every time I do it.
I enjoy reading -
Being with a toddler, I sometimes prefer eBooks over real physical books. (Although, nothing beats the real tactile physical book.)
I would rate it better than a Kindle anytime.
If you give me a free day and tell me to do whatever I want to, I will -
Lie on my couch with my iPad and go on a reading spree.
Pure bliss!

Writing
The day the Magic Keyboard was launched, I felt it was expensive and a make-shift arrangement by Apple to make it a MacBook.
I was wrong.
It is not expensive compared to the value it brings to its users.
It has the right weight distribution which makes it lap(able) as well.
The best part is the keys’ feedback and its feel. Your fingers glide.
That keyboard is so fast and accurate. The size of the keys, the distance between the keys, and the overall width of the keyboard is perfect.
I have more speed with more accuracy compared to other devices I have.
For 4 years, it has been my go-to device in any kind of situation or any kind of work demand.
Two things I discovered about myself with the help of this keyboard were -
After the iPod, the iPad is the best invention by Apple.
Why iPad Over Mac/PC or Any Other Tablet?
I have used Macs and PCs for more than ten years.
I have a Samsung Tab S9 Ultra, which is also a great device but stands nowhere near my 4-year-old iPad.
Well, one might say I am biased but actually no. iPad is still and will be way ahead of its competitors.
Even after 4 years, it has a better battery compared to many newer tablets and laptops.
Any kind of content creation is possible and better on iPads. Why?
3 things -
It’s just not a writer’s paradise but also a content creator’s paradise.
I am eagerly waiting for the newer iPads which are much-awaited and could have some major design changes.
It is also believed that the Magic Keyboard will also get a revamp. I am going to buy it even if my current iPad is fully functional.
Why do you love your iPad?
