Issue 75: iPad Keyboard Shortcuts for M365 Apps

I’ve finally found where Microsoft has some references for iOS Keyboard shortcuts for Word, Excel and even found one for PowerPoint (although I can’t get the PowerPoint new slide keyboard shortcut working). Here are just some of the cool things you can do in Microsoft Teams with an iPad.

1. I got the preview working in Safari (same trick I had to do on my macOS computers) by disabling cross site scripting.
2. The forward slash key in the Safari browser didn’t work, but the search for status changes that Dawn Bjork, CSP?, MCT, MOSE, CVP wrote about today worked once search results popped up.

Mica Hanson has an iPhone and I mentioned my son Sam Rey taught me a cool little trick. He paired a bluetooth Apple keyboard with his iPhone for taking notes in college (then he didn’t have to drag a whole laptop to class and the keyboard let him type notes - not certain if he can touch type faster (seems like many kids can on a touch screen nowadays).Let the documentation begin! Looking to see if my PowerPoint New Slide keyboard shortcut is an iPadOS 16 issue, my interpretation issue or something else…

Can’t get Command + Shift + N to do anything (and it’s not listed in the keyboard shortcuts when I hold down the ? key. I don’t think Sharon Connolly has an iPad (if she does, hopefully she also has a keyboard for it! I don’t know all the PowerPoint MVPs, but Heather Ackmann , Echo Swinford, PowerPoint MVP , Sandra Johnson and Glenna Shaw, PowerPoint MVP come to mind. I know Dewayne Hyatt is at Microsoft now and between all these folks and Joe Gasper , hopefully someone can answer whether this worked at one point or what. I JUST updated my one handy iPad (and the other two are old enough they didn’t have keyboard covers supported).

I went through all the M365 Apps and Services MVPs and will continue to showcase them a few at a time here on my LinkedIn Profile Showcase Newsletter, now I’ll just have to start tagging them and see if any of them have done this on an iPad!!!
