Boston Dynamics Robot Dog TikTok Hits 4.5M Views
Princeton University students are creating TikTok videos of Boston Dynamics’ robot dog Spot to demonstrate its potential civilian use cases and the results are going viral.
The videos are being added under the TikTok account, SPOTlight, which shows Spot interacting in some musical videos.
In one, which has racked up 4.5 million views, student Gigi Schadrack programmed Spot to line dance alongside her, jumping and moving in sync.
In another, with 1.4 million views, Schadrack ballet dances with the robot.
Robotic Head Transplant Surgery Plans Revealed
A biomedical robotics startup has introduced what it claims could be the world’s first robotic head transplant system.
The startup, BrainBridge, said the procedure could offer patients suffering from terminal illnesses a new chance of life by transplanting their heads onto healthy donor bodies.?
Robots would carry out the procedure and use AI and molecular-level imaging to ensure precise reconnection of vital nerves.
The project is being led by Dubai-based scientist Hashem Al-Ghaili who shared a CGI video of the head transplant concept on social media.?
Disney New Drone Show Soars Over Disney Springs
Disney World launched its new drone show, “Disney Dreams that Soar” in the sky over Disney Springs this week.

Featuring 800 drones, Wednesday morning’s show was a preview before it officially launched on May 24.?
According to Disney, the drone show, presented by AT&T will run through Sept. 2, with larger-than-life classic Disney characters choreographed with quotes from films including “Peter Pan,” “Dumbo,” “Wall-E,” “Big Hero 6” and “Star Wars.” as well as music from some of Disney’s favorite soundtracks.
“We are presenting Disney characters who have had a dream of flying. Not just the idea that they can fly, but the idea of taking their lives to the next level,” said Tony Giordano, show director. “We put a lot of thought in making sure that no matter how old you are, or how much of a fan you are, you’re going to see a character that you love.”
Flying Cars Allowed to Drive on Roads in Minnesota
Flying cars are now approved to drive to airports on state roads and highways in Minnesota.?
This is the second state to approve such flying car road travel, following similar legislation passed in New Hampshire several years ago.
Flying sports car company Samson Sky was a main proponent and supporter of the legislation, just signed into law by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
The Minnesota law specifies that drivers of roadable aircraft are required to adhere to the rules of the road while driving, the same as other motor vehicles.?
Flying Vehicle Takes to the Skies in Tokyo
The Lift Hexa eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle) was flown in Tokyo this week as a demonstration hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The Lift electric aerial vehicle (EAV) is in the category that does not require a pilot’s license to fly it.
The vehicle was designed in 2017 and has been shown and demonstrated worldwide.?
“It’s very, very simple to fly,” said Lift Aircraft chief pilot Jace McCown. “The computer handles most of the details. Press a button to take off, press a button to land.”
