Tour De France Adds Digital Twin, ChatGPT, Edge Computing

The 2023 Tour de France kicked off over the weekend bringing IoT, edge connectivity and computing, as well as ChatGPT to the forefront of the event.

For the past nine years, NTT has been the race’s technology partner providing innovative experiences while digitally transforming race operations. This year the company is bringing “a greater focus on the combined value of these technologies for real-time analytics.” That same focus is coming to the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift later this month.?

Where ChatGPT Fits in the Internet of Things

ChatGPT’s debut last November – and the publicity it generated – has sparked a widespread interest in the generative AI technology it uses and its possible applications. The human-like text the sophisticated chatbot produces has had some worrying that a self-aware robot threatening humanity waits around the corner. While still in its early stages, the technology shows promise for the Internet of Things.

Amazon’s Zoox Tests Driverless Taxi in Las Vegas

Zoox’s self-driving taxi has started testing on public roads in Las Vegas, a major step toward the Amazon-owned company’s commercial launch.?

The deployment marks the first time a fully driverless, purpose-built, self-driving taxi has operated autonomously on public roads in Nevada and is being backed by the local Department of Motor Vehicles.
