IoT by satellite, mesh net and combination

After just 12 months, four redesigns (Sigfox, LoRaWAN, GSM, Astrocast) and a new design with 5G NTN are going into mass production at Digitanimal. The cattle tracker was already field-tested in October 2024. TPI in Germany is now sponsoring the first 20 batteries.

Digitanimal got further enquiries from Antennity. There was a request for Mioty terrestrial to scare away wolves near flocks of sheep. Another version with Bluetooth tracking indoors in the barn with technology from Friedrich Telematik. The antennas for Bluetooth tracking are from Antennity here: https://antennity.com/bluetooth-postioning/?. Antennity plans to finance the Mioty NTN PoC.

5G NTN + Mioty or NeoMesh

My pitch for 5G NTN Early Adopter Programm was the combination of satellite with Mioty and NeoMesh. My pitch has now become a reality. I can deliver radio modules with 868/915 MHz and 2400 MHz with LoRaWAN stack and NeoMesh stack with LoRa PHY and LR-FHSS. The most cost-effective module is a NeoMesh (with LoRa PHY) to LoRaWAN bridge. As LoRaWAN with LR-FHSS supports satellites, it is automatically a satellite bridge. A free Mioty UL stack has been available on GitHub for several months. A second version is available for a fee but can operate Mioty UL and Bluetooth LE in parallel in real-time with interrupt capability. The Mioty UL stack works together with a LoRa module. Every LoRa module can already use Mioty UL. The LoRaWAN Alliance and Semtech won't tell us.

Mioty network processor with Mioty stack UL/DL:

I have had a Mioty SoC with Cortex M0 since Embedded World. There will soon be a network processor with Mioty Stack UL/DL for approximately 1 Euro. This stack works directly with the Mioty base station on the ground, Mioty via drone, aircraft and satellite without any modifications. I will combine this Mioty NTN network processor with LTE Cat1 bis modules. I'm currently talking to two network operators about this. When I'm finished, any LTE module, NB-IoT module or 5G NTN module can be expanded worldwide for around 1.50 Euro BOM. My own Mioty base station is now available as a prototype.

Satellite project requests in the last few weeks:

In the first 6 weeks of 2025, Annennity received 5 enquiries about 5G NTN. 4 of them turned into orders for antenna kits up to the specification stage. In the last 2 weeks, I have received 2 enquiries for Mioty satellite modules and one enquiry for a new satellite network similar to OneWeb. I can offer the 650 satellites manufactured in Europe for my satellite network. I also have a planar antenna for 2200 MHz and one for 13 GHz. At Embedded World in Nuremberg, the new antenna evaluation kit Antennity Dylan from Deutsche Telekom was integrated live into a device. My pitch with mesh net and satellite is now a real project at ESA:

For this project, Antennity will offer I offer the antennas, the battery, the consulting and the entire development. My customer has to decide. If you need antennas, batteries and radio modules, we can help you. We provide neutral consulting on all radio technologies.

I have been available to all IoT companies on a project basis since January 2025. Please send enquiries to h harald.naumann (at) antennity.com or arrange a 30-minute video call: https://meet.brevo.com/harald-naumann/30-minutiges-meeting
