IoT and the evolving trends in 2022

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become an emerging utopia of trending technology co-existing in almost every sphere of life leading to revolutions and advancements. The phenomenon persisted since ever and has only come to the forefront now.

Mobile phones did exist back in the 1980s too that weighed 790 g and offered only 30 minutes of talk-time. The idea of introducing a mobile phone was feasible but the implementation wasn't. Snap to 2022, when everyone's pocket carries a mobile phone, of negligible weight and unlimited talk-time.

But what is IoT all about?

Let's understand it this way-- nowadays the air conditioner can also be operated through the Internet and so can a car be connected to the GPS. Though it can be understood as the usual Internet presenting a network of connected computers but this is the difference between the two is that it connects physical things over the Internet.

These things collect data from their surroundings and transfer it to the cloud, where the system stores and filters it and analyses it further. The system can assess a variety of data, such as geolocation, temperature, pressure, air humidity, and so on.

This may sound very mundane and only a part of the giant technology abyss but the IoT has shaped the necessary fields of life and eased the functioning to an extent that those developments have become the needed quality of life.

Healthcare:

With health monitors, smart wearable devices, and automated medicinal doses, IoT has unimaginably advanced the health sector. These advancements also allow the monitoring of a patient's health in real-time.

According to the Grand View Research report, IoT in the healthcare industry is predicted to reach $409.9 billion by 2022.

The IoT is not also extending the sector but also helping in increasing the life expectancy.

Retail:

Do long billing queues kill most of your time? Don't worry it is the 21st Century and shop like you are in it! What IoT brings to the retail table is just comfort and extra time for you to shop by introducing smart scanners to automate the payment process. The shelves will have all the product details and a robot assistant will be present in case of further help.

For the shipment of a package, sensors will be present to provide the details on the condition of the product to be cautious of any damage or unforeseen loss.

Other than that, the IoT will also alert the buyers about a drop in the price of a product that might be of special interest to them.

Industrial manufacturing:

In 2022, the IoT aims to transform the traditional manufacturing units into automated industries with high-quality products and modifiable supply chains.

Its objective is to curate an environment for the employees that is safe, efficient, highly productive, and has a reduced operating cost.

Moreover, the complex enterprise software will replace the routine chores with smart machines. Through this, the manufacturer will be aware of when the product has deteriorated and will predict when it is likely to wear out and thus, the need for repair.

Artificial Intelligence (AI):

Ever wondered how your robotic vacuum cleaner never bumps into interior objects? That's the power of AI and IoT combined. It maps the dwellings and remembers the location of the objects and moreover cleans the rooms with optimal routes --making life so much easier. AI and IoT combined will make an unbelievable future.

Thermostats and air-conditioners follow the same pattern. They analyze the temperature preference of the user and give them a curated experience.

Don't you think these ideas are what we had never even imagined? That's the aim of the technology industry-- to advance the world in a way that was never even thought about.
