“If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save everyday till eternity passes away
Just to spend it with you…”
When Jim Croce wrote the lyrics for this slow soulful song (time in a bottle), he couldn’t have ever guessed that nearly 50 years later someone in India will remember these lines when he writes about the transformational impact of Internet of Things (IoT), a technology that still sounds like an alien theory to most people. Because that is exactly what IoT does essentially – it helps you live and work smarter, provides greater functionality and helps you with better access to control things around you effortlessly, thereby giving you ‘time in a bottle’.
IoT is a term used for connected things; the process by which these things communicate and transmit data; the technology enabling this process and the final goal. To put it simply, the technology behind IoT is so efficient that it gives you an opportunity to spend more time with your friends & family and lets you do things that you really want. We are already living in the era of smart devices: smart cars, smart homes, smart phones, smart refrigerators, smart audio systems and beyond. These are all examples of consumer IoT solutions which are already making huge impact on our lives.
IoT solutions are revolutionizing the way Industries carry out their business. With their devices connected on the IoT, they are able to gather necessary data which is required to make informed business decisions. It can have an impactful transformation on all aspects of an enterprise, be it technologies, processes, business outcomes and profitability. In fact many companies in India?are?using?IoT solutions to drive their business growth as well as to innovate, as the technology is enabling them to become intelligent and data-driven. With key partnerships, innovative platforms and a consultative approach,?IoT?providers are helping enterprises to adopt?and integrate IoT solutions across their operations.?
