The IoT Boom!

The IoT Boom!

It wasn’t long ago that I worked for a company where someone placed this “Boom!” sign on our hardware lab’s door as a joke.

A few days before we had a minor incident where a small Lithium Ion battery went up in smoke (a story for another time!). Instead of removing the sign we left it up as an inspiration for the innovation and courage to try out new ideas and new technologies to find better solutions for challenging customer problems.

Today, that same innovative spirit is being carried forward by many IoT companies like we here at Cuspix, fueling a boom for the Internet of Things.

At Cuspix we recognized the fact that the majority of IoT companies today are focusing on data, analytics and back-end technologies. Cuspix has made the decision to address the area of intelligent edge hardware, making it easy and inexpensive for software based IoT companies to create customized smart-sensors to solve their own customers problems effectively, while potentially creating new streams of revenue through hardware sales or hardware subscription programs.

Our eco-system allows custom sensor concepts to be created quickly, without the need for additional hardware or embedded systems engineers and the long lead time those projects usually require.

Thanks for your comments Christine.? We are also doing software, but focusing on the hardware and firmware in that hardware, and approaching it from an entire systems approach.? Key is to make it fast and easy for a software focused company to have the ability to create customized sensors without needing any hardware or firmware expertise.

Indeed Bill, any IoT solutions require a great combination of HW and SW. When everyone else is talking about SW, the role of HW is somewhat not addressed as much even though getting the HW right is as crucial as SW in any successful IoT solutions. I can definitely feel you!?
