Requirements for importing goods to Qatar

·     CRA Certification:

For importing ICT Equipment in Qatar, you must need (Communications Regulatory Authority) CRA Certification. Any Local or International Manufacturer, Licensed Operator, or Authorized Importer in Qatar wishing to import RTTE for their own use (i.e. not for marketing/commercial purposes) can apply for type approval. A type approval certificate is granted if the equipment complies with the standards recognized by CRA. It will take 1 week.

·     Import license:

·     Customs declaration:

·     Bill of lading:

Before the shipping begins, you have to get a bill of lading. It is a list of a ship’s cargo, which looks like a receipt. You can get this receipt from the master of the ship. The bill proves that the carrier has received the consignment in good condition.

·     Certificate of Origin:

It is the most important document in international trade. It describes that the goods that are going to be imported/exported are in good condition, and are entirely obtained, produced, and processed. It acts as a passport for goods and declares the nationality of products.

·     Pro Forma Invoice:

It is a bill or quote, in a form of an invoice, which is usually required by the buyer to apply for an import license. It is considered to be a pre-shipment inspection contract. It provides detailed information that a buyer needs to legally import the goods.

·      Letter of Credit:

This is the most common document that is required while importing or exporting. It is a document obtained from the bank that can guarantee the payment. Qatar customs does not allow you to ship anything without these documents under any circumstances and your goods are returned to their original country. The “country of origin” or “made in” fields are mandatory on each piece and carton. These fields should match with that mentioned on the certificate of origin and invoice.
