What to expect from Apple’s iPhone 14 event

Apple is expected to launch three new Apple Watch models and a refreshed pair of AirPods Pro earbuds along with its range of new iPhones. The launch event on September 7 will be a small in-person event that will be streamed online. It is rumoured that iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will feature an upgraded A16 processing chip, an always-on display, a 48-megapixel rear camera with a larger sensor, and a camera cutout on the screen instead of a notch. More predictions for the event are available in the article.

The shout-out app that lets users send their friends a birthday greeting directly from Rudy Giuliani is expanding to allow for extended, two-way chats. As our populations age, this startup is turning live-in care into a gig-economy platform

As developed-world populations increasingly get older, healthcare is being rapidly digitized and “platformed” in order to meet the huge scale of change heading our way. Techcrunch recently?covered?how Cera in the U.K. just raised $320 million to shift monitoring of patients into the home rather than over-flowing hospitals. Now another startup aims to create an almost “gig-economy style” platform for people providing live-in care to the elderly, this time in Europe.

Instagram’s latest feature test is about being BeReal

The unwritten rule of the internet is that “if there’s a new social media feature, Instagram will copy it.” In the latest example, the Meta-owned social network is testing a BeReal clone (BeReal is an Unfiltered App that claims to be the Anti-Instagram) feature that challenges people to post candid photos within two minutes.

"We're excited to introduce the newest member of the iPhone family: the iPhone 404. This phone has everything you loved about the previous iPhones, but with some added features that are sure to make it your new favourite. For starters, we've added twin props for hands-free action selfies. Now you can take the perfect picture or video without having to worry about holding your phone steady. We've also added double camera clusters for capturing stunning 3d video as well as adding redundancy when your fat fingers get in the way of a lens."

There are so many sports around the world at the moment and they all bring atmosphere, thrills, spills, heartache, determination and adrenaline (in some way, shape or form). But what an exciting new adventure is Excel Esports. That’s right, a whole sport dedicated to ‘VLOOKUP’, ‘COUNTIF’, and ‘SUMIF’. We’ve officially peaked as a society.

That's it for this week's episode of the?In Other Newsletter.?As always, feel free to reply to the post or leave some feedback via PM if you want to chat about it.
