Prominent business, community and government leaders today committed to take action to create a more inclusive Canberra as part of the launch of Involve – Canberra’s Disability Commitment.

The new initiative is a strong statement of intent for the way that the Canberra community would work together to create a place where all people with disability felt included and supported. 

Involve is more than a new policy – it is a way for everyone in our community to contribute to improving outcomes for the 57,500 people with disability who live in the ACT.

 Involve is a two-year campaign to address structural barriers facing people with disability and includes practical ways in which individuals can take action.

In 2015-16 it will focus on housing, employment and NDIS implementation. In 2016-17 it will focus on justice, welcoming and accessible communities and health
