February greets, dear reader,
Mark your calendars—March 14th is the night.
My Creating Culture book launch party is happening in Seattle, and you should come. ?? It’s happening during International Women’s Day celebrations, which feels especially fitting because this book is a love letter to the people—especially women, femmes, and historically excluded leaders—who are building a future that nurtures our collective thriving. It also strangely feels fitting through this moment we're navigating when we see the importance of reclaiming our power from systems that centralize and abuse it.
Ready to deepen into an experience that centers our creativity and thriving? Please join me for:
? An evening of music, art, storytelling, and meaning
? A toast to the visionaries creating cultures where everyone can thrive
? An experience where you get to feel the power of emotions in shaping our world
This magic will take place at the one of a kind venue and Frank Gehry masterpiece, The Museum Of Pop Culture at the Seattle Center!
MoPOP’s Vision:
A world where everyone recognizes and wields their cultural power.
Yes it's a celebration —it’s also an embodied experience designed to connect us, inspire you and nourish our collective creativity.
The Power of Systems Thinking
Speaking of visionaries, my guest for this Friday’s Cultural Luminaries Live is none other than Sheryl Cababa, author of Closing the Loop: Systems Thinking for Designers.
Sheryl is a powerhouse. She’s bringing systems thinking into the design world—where it’s deeply needed. Because technology and design shape how we work, connect, and experience the world. And if we don’t understand systems, we end up solving the wrong problems, reacting instead of responding, and—ironically—creating more harm while trying to fix things.
One of my biggest takeaways from writing Creating Culture is how often we rush to action before we truly understand. We’re conditioned to fix, to optimize, to streamline. But real change isn’t about knee-jerk solutions. It’s about learning how to see, sense, and respond—together.
This is what Sheryl’s work is about. It’s what my work is about. And it’s what we’ll be talking about this Friday at 10AM PT | 1PM ET.
? Tune in live on LinkedIn ? Don’t miss this one—it’s going to be a honest culturally relevant conversation in applied systems thinking
Can’t wait to celebrate and learn with you all.
In creativity & community,
Jyoti
