An invitation for leaders to encounter and learn
There is a great difference between knowing about God and truly knowing Him. Many believe in God, yet they struggle to experience the depths of His love. They know the facts, the doctrine, and the rules, but they miss the heart. It is possible to go through life with a theological understanding of God and still never encounter the fullness of His embrace.
The journey of faith is not simply about understanding what God does but catching who He is. It is about learning to learn—to cultivate a heart that catches His whispers, responds to His movements, and reflects His love. We are called not just to study His words but to know His ways, to walk in step with Him, to live from a place of deep connection rather than striving.
God never intended for us to strive our way into His presence. He is not found in toil but in trust, not in pressure but in peace. The world teaches us that everything must be earned, that love is conditional, and that approval is based on performance. But the kingdom of God operates on a completely different foundation—one of grace, belonging, and sonship. If we approach Him only through knowledge, we will study Him like a subject rather than experience Him as a Father.
To catch His heart, we must learn to be still and listen. His voice is best heard in rest, not in restlessness. In a world of noise, hurry, and distraction, God’s voice often feels like a whisper—not because He is distant, but because He is inviting us closer. He speaks in the quiet, in the pauses, in the places where our hearts are open enough to receive. “Be still, and know that I am God.” Stillness is the sacred space where transformation happens.
The Father’s love is unlike anything we have encountered in this world. It is not transactional, nor does it fluctuate based on performance. It is steady, unfailing, unrelenting. When we fail, He does not turn away. When we stumble, He does not withdraw. Instead, He draws closer, whispering over us the truth of who we are. "You are my beloved son; in you, I am well pleased."
This is the core of learning to catch the Father’s heart. He is not waiting for us to prove ourselves. He is not holding back His love until we reach a level of worthiness. He is already fully present, fully invested, fully delighted in us. The greatest shift we must make is not in behaviour but in identity. Learning to catch the Father’s heart means allowing His love to rewrite the way we see ourselves. We are not orphans working for approval—we are sons and daughters who are already embraced.
God is always speaking, always revealing His heart, always drawing us deeper. But the language of His heart is not always in words—it is often found in the quiet, in the nudges, in the deep knowing that surpasses human understanding. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice." This is not about religious effort but relational awareness. It is about becoming familiar with the way He speaks, the way He moves, the way He loves.

Some of the most profound moments of encounter come when we are least expecting them—a simple moment of awareness, a shift in perspective, an overwhelming sense of peace. Learning to learn means recognising these moments, treasuring them, and leaning into them rather than brushing them aside. The Father’s heart is not hidden, but it must be sought. Not because He is playing games with us, but because love is found in pursuit.
Catching the Father’s heart is not just about experiencing His love; it is about becoming a vessel of His love. When we truly grasp the depths of His affection, we begin to carry it into the world. His heart beats for the broken, the weary, the forgotten. If we have caught His heart, we will see people differently. We will not be quick to judge or condemn but will become carriers of grace, ambassadors of the love that has transformed us.
This is what the world is longing for—not just words, not just doctrines, but a tangible demonstration of the Father’s love. People are not drawn to Christ because of intellectual arguments but because they encounter something real, something alive, something that resonates with the deepest longing in their souls. And that something is Him. His presence. His love. His embrace.
Right now, He is calling us to a deeper place. He is asking us to let go of striving, to unlearn the orphan spirit, and to receive the fullness of sonship. He is inviting us into a life where we do not just know about His love, but we live in it, abide in it, and release it into the lives of others.
The Father’s heart is not something to be earned—it is something to be received. Will you slow down? Will you listen? Will you let go of the distractions long enough to hear His whisper? Will you choose to believe that His love is for you, here and now, just as you are?
There is a fresh encounter waiting for you. Lean in. Catch His heartbeat. Let His love redefine everything.

2 周Thanks for sharing Dave. I particularly resonated with "He is not found in toil but in trust, not in pressure but in peace.?"
