YOU ARE RESILIENT!
I'm back with another interesting edition of the newsletter - Happiness At Work - packed with fresh insights, intriguing stories, and practical tips to brighten up your work life.
Let's dive into the world of workplace happiness and keep our journey of joy and discovery rolling!
Are you doing a lot of 'Invisible Work' that goes unnoticed?
Invisible work, often overlooked and undervalued, is integral to the smooth functioning of organizations. This work includes administrative duties, emotional support, and informal mentorship, which significantly contribute to workplace morale and employee satisfaction. Recognizing and valuing these contributions is essential for fostering happiness at work.
For instance, consider an office manager who not only handles administrative tasks but also mentors new hires and boosts team morale. This invisible labor enhances workplace culture and productivity but often goes unrecognized.
There is a lot of invisible work that takes place at a leadership level as well. A good leader often checks in with the team (unofficially), solves conflicts, smoothens the communications between teams, and makes sure that productivity is not suffered. Unfortunately, there is very little credit given to such invisible work.

For better connections at work, help your colleague achieve a goal -
Work connections are a snowflake-like concept. you can have the best working bond till the time you work and later, nothing! But if you feel that this one particular colleague has the potential to be friends with you for a long time even after work, help flourish that connection.

The key to this connection? Help them in achieving a goal that they have been trying to achieve for a while! It need not be a work-related goal, from weight loss to more concentration to money saving, all these goals can use an outsider's help, such as yourself. Imagine, a colleague of yours is your buddy and you share a great work rapport, you can ask each other about your goals and help them achieve together. So if this colleague/friend is saving up to take her family on a Europe trip, then you can keep reminding her to save not splurge on unnecessary.
This will help you develop a bond that goes beyond work! right? So, when you meet your work friend today, ask about their goals and start helping them achieve them. Motivate them, and push them to do the right thing.

Every week I give a dope recommendation, this week's recommendation is a reading app that I have been using for a few weeks. Oter app is a micro book app that works on a credit system, The free version has many interesting books and many books have an option of listening as well. Every day, you log in and spend 15 minutes on the app, and the credits get updated. It's a smart way to get more reading done simply.
