Most Military Professionals and Spouses haven't realized that their job search has become a direct marketing effort. It's not who you know, but who knows YOU that matters. The success of your journey from the uniform to employment really boils down to how quickly you can can have a clear, focused, targeted and opportunistic strategy. You are now the Commanding Officer of creating your own "luck."

With an average of 250 resumes per opening, most Hiring Decision Makers are faced with the resumes of applicants who didn't read the job description or qualifications (but feel that they CAN do the job, which is far different from having actually DONE the job). Stop focusing on your resume. Looking for your next career is centered around finding PEOPLE we want to work with. It also means helping them to find us. It's all about having an focused mission on standing out from your competition of 600-800 fellow servicemembers who transition every day.

The mission is simple. Identify and build relationships with the kind of people who either do what you want to do or want you to do it. They are the ones who you want to know that you're going to be available, can solve their problems, be a fit for their culture and can last.
