How to Acknowledge Your Habits

You can get past the introspection illusion by examining your daily routine and asking yourself three questions:

  • What am I doing right now??Try your own experience sampling study by asking this question several times throughout the day.?
  • Is this something I usually do??Habits are recurring activities. If you can answer?“yes”?to this, move forward to question three.?
  • Did I have to think about this??Did you have to deliberate over the action, or did you do it without thinking? Also, can you think of something else while performing the action? If?"yes,"?it's likely a habit.

Your habitual self is full of possibility.

Repeatedly ask yourself the above questions, and you’ll uncover unconscious routines.

And, with that understanding, you can take the first step toward unlocking new potential.
