INVESTMENT BOOSTS TRINITATUM’S EXPANSION PLANS

KBS Corporate Finance has advised on a significant investment into Trinitatum, a provider of test automation software and related services within the energy and financial trading markets, from Literacy Capital.

London-based Trinitatum, founded in 2013 by Jed Dalton and Steve Baker, has spent 10 years developing and refining its proprietary software, Triangle, to optimise its test automation solutions, which integrate with customers’ platforms.

The Trinitatum platform was originally designed to serve customers in the energy and financial trading markets. Its suite of products is complemented by a high-quality service offering, with the business developing strong relationships with a loyal blue-chip customer base, building an excellent reputation for providing high-quality test solutions in the process.

Jed and Steve were seeking an investment partner that could leverage the business’s unique position in the marketplace to scale for further growth both domestically and internationally. Significant investment was made by Literacy Capital, with the founders retaining their positions within the company.

Jeff Hewitt, formerly Executive Director of Civica’s Local Government division, becomes non-executive Chair upon completion of the investment, bringing significant experience in assisting and scaling software businesses.

Literacy will also assist in further building a full executive team, to maximise the potential of the business which will include exploring further applications for the product.

The shareholders were advised by Mughees Saleem, Dave Gardner and Anne Pritchard of KBS Corporate Finance.

Mughees commented: “Steve and Jed have built an incredibly successful business in a niche market, underpinned by strong relationships with key players in their industry.

“Therefore, it was important to find the right investment partner who could support the business during the next leg of its growth trajectory and the transaction is a great result for all parties.”

The shareholders conveyed Trinitatum’s full satisfaction with the service provided by KBS Corporate Finance.

“The whole KBS team were diligent and professional in all aspects of the transaction, understanding the complex nature of our business and finding for us, in Literacy Capital, an excellent partner to help us on the next stage of our journey,” commented Jed Dalton.

Legal services on the transaction were provided by TLT, whose team comprised Ian Roberts (Partner), Nicola Bilner (Managing Associate) and Kirsty Wilson (Senior Associate).

Ian Roberts, partner at TLT, said: “It was a pleasure to work with the teams at Trinitatum and Literacy as they forged a partnership which I am sure will create exciting opportunities for the business. All parties worked well together to ensure the transaction process was completed smoothly and in good time. We are now looking forward to watching the business flourish in this next chapter.”
