Investing in tools addressing the global mental health epidemic
Stephen Fern
“You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”
From children being diagnosed with ADHD variants on an unprecedented scale, to workplace absenteeism due to depression at record levels, suicide being the greatest killer of males under 40 and half of the worlds adult population waking up to the fact that ‘just being female’ exposes them to decades of battles with hormones intent on disrupting normal daily life, it could be argued that the global mental health crisis is as a great a threat to ‘modern life’ as the climate crisis; and the wellbeing of people and the health of our planet are of course deeply interconnected.
There few people on the planet who are not affected by mental health issues impacting themselves, family members or close friends.
AND
Businesses worldwide are struggling to deal with the impact of widespread workplace absence with anxiety, stress and depression causing huge disruption and economic loss.
So we know there is problem
Unfortunately, the scale of the mental health crisis has dramatically outpaced the resources available to help those impacted:
So we know current solutions are not working
But with the advent of omnipresent mobile phones, technology and the application of AI, we now have the potential to help millions of people worldwide in our grasp.
So, we know what’s needed
1: A platform that is accessible to all:
2: A platform that allows users to secure evaluation and diagnosis through proven methodologies
3: A platform that can support daily activities and interventions focussing on specific targeted improvements to the mental health and wellbeing of the individual
4: A platform that can delivers resources, content and video programming which provides access to world class expertise which is accessible to all at scale.
5: A platform that facilitates group and one to one access to therapeutic sessions and interventions in scheduled programming and on-demand; available when needed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
What makes something ‘stand out’ in this space?
A holistic approach to mental health challenges: resources available to address everything from general wellbeing to serious psychiatric interventions
A world class team led by internationally renowned clinical expertise
High level technology and AI integration

Additionally, include more vacation time, and an option to bundle holidays together such as France does. Also, incorporate wellness and mental health services in the workplace by hiring wellness and mental health counselors and mental health hour every day of the week which will include counseling, exercise, meditation, yoga and a healthy diet. I think the high suicide rate in men is due to the unnecessary stress and demands men are submitted by society and other men as well the ridiculous demand that they hold back their emotions and not express the feminine aspects of their humanity. It is time to evolve. It's time for change in all aspects of society, and human perceptions of humanity, the environment, 'tradition', and our perceptions of the animal kingdom. I'm don't hink tools will eradicate this crisis. It has to be an overhaul of human consciousness through spiritual means not religious, but understanding that humans are both flesh and spirit (energy). GOD energy incarnate. 2 个月The increasing prevalence of mental health issues is definitely a pressing concern worldwide. And I believe we all can play a vital role in supporting those who are struggling. Here are some ways we can contribute: - Increase Awareness and Reduce Stigma by educating ourselves on mental heath conditions & their impact; challenge negative stereotypes; & avoid stigmatizing language when discussing mental health. - Be a Supportive Listener by actively listening without judging and offer encouragement & compassion. - Encourage Help-Seeking by normalizing seeking professional help, provide resources and offer assistance. - Promote Self-Care and Well-being by encouraging healthy habits, mindfulness & foster a sense of belonging within our community. - Advocate for Mental Health Support by funding & research, raising awareness, organizing events/workshops, & involving our elected officials. By taking these steps, the whole community can contribute to a more compassionate and supportive society for individuals facing mental health challenges.
