If there is one thing that I'm hearing time and time again at the moment, its that winning and retaining talent is a real challenge.
A critical component to any successful business, is that they recognise that investment in their people will be rewarded. A truly successful business will recognise that stewardship - investing in talent in a way such that leaders are constantly thinking about succession planning and developing their people to be future leaders.
I'm training to become a coach and I've been surprised about how much I have learned about my own style of leadership and how adopting that coaching style to everyday work life has made a real difference.
So what does a coaching style mean? It can mean many things, but one thing I'm trying more of is to be more non-directive in my interactions with others. Non-directive is about the other person finding the answer themselves with the help of open and probing questions. When people find the answer themselves it is more likely to embed and succeed.

10 年I agree Giles, people / colleagues have to learn by themselves with the assistance and direction when it's required by the right person, Coach/People Manager whoever, as long as they know they can go to you for assistance/help and that you're open and honest it will make a good team!! They need to feel comfortable with you and able to approach you.. Just thought I would say!!! Hope your keeping well.
