There are fraudulent renovation companies in Singapore. Scammers may have everything thought out when they’re planning on beginning their operations so it may be difficult to spot a fraudulent company. Yue Wei gives us some advice.?

People should

• Do background checks
• Check on the company’s accolades
• Check out their previous projects
• Check out reviews
• Familiarise yourself with the contract

Renovating homes may be costly and thus, sufficient research should be carried out.

Renovation challenges

Individuals should consider who the renovation is for.?

A simple discussion or thought process with either yourself or your family could be helpful.??

There are a few questions you can ask yourself before considering hiring a renovator.

• What kind of spaces do you want?
• What items do you want in the home?

Yue Wei continues by addressing the types of values that should be accentuated with the design. If more family time is required at breakfast for example, maybe a table should be set next to the kitchen to encourage this.?

Discussing budget

Discussing your budget may help foster a better relationship with your designer. By doing so, both parties may have a clear understanding of what is required. After all, in any environment, a seamless work-flow is desired, isn’t it? ?

There are some things that he feels good designers ought to do

• Maximise the budget
• Work within the budget
• Strategically plan to delegate tasks between both the designer and homeowner.
