Investing close to $230 Million in Canada’s Major Research Facilities

COPY: Today, I'm excited to announce investments of close to $ 230 million dollars to support Canadian research.

The funding I am announcing today will support 14 state-of-the-art collaborative facilities across Canada.

Researchers rely on state-of-the-art facilities to find answers to big questions about the universe, the environment, and our health.

Canadian researchers have been spending many sleepless nights in their labs or at their desks helping us better understand, diagnose, treat, and ultimately vaccinate for COVID-19, and they need our support and commitment to continue their life changing work, even after the pandemic is over.

Canada’s major research facilities serve tens of thousands of researchers tackling fundamental questions about our existence and some of the most important challenges we’re facing today. 

Not only do these facilities make it possible for Canada to show global leadership in solving those challenges, they also position us as a top destination to attract world-class talent, and drive economic growth.
