Hersh: Our hearts are broken

The OurCrowd family mourns the deaths of the six kidnapped hostages found murdered in cold blood by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Among them was Hersh Goldberg-Polin, son of Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, former President of Abe’s Market . Hersh was taken hostage on October 7th while attending the Nova music festival at Kibbutz Re'im in southern Israel. Rachel and Jon addressed the Democratic National Convention last month pleading for the release of all hostages, a message they repeated at Hersh's funeral in Jerusalem on Monday attended by thousands. We pray for a speedy and safe return of all of the hostages still held by Hamas.

The World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report identifies disinformation as the most significant short-term risk threatening modern society. Gartner anticipates that enterprise expenditure on battling this threat will surpass $500B by 2028, cannibalizing 50% of marketing and cybersecurity budgets. DreaMed eyes US expansion with $3M raise for AI diabetes support

DreaMed ’s AI-powered endo.digital platform provides treatment recommendations to millions of people with diabetes who do not have access to endocrinologists. The company is expanding and hiring new staff after completing a $3M funding round despite the fact that Eran Atlas, its CEO and Co-founder, spent six of the last 10 months in the Israeli army on reserve duty, Calcalist reports . “We managed to overcome the difficulties of the coronavirus, the economic crisis and the war, and we are preparing for a large-scale deployment in the US and then to other countries, with a significant revenue stream and the raising of new capital,” Atlas says. DreaMed, which previously raised $9.4M and received ~$20M in non-dilutive funding, also secured a fifth FDA approval for its platform and signed several new deals with health systems and companies, including Yale New Haven Health and a data integration agreement with Abbott , a leading medical device company.?

D-ID launches AI video translation + voice cloning + lip sync

D-ID , OurCrowd’s GenAI video creation platform, unveiled its latest tool for translating videos into other languages, enabling users to clone the speaker’s voice and lip-sync the video to match the translated words as part of the AI editing process, Sarah Perez reports for TechCrunch . The company’s AI Video Translate tech is available to current D-ID subscribers for free in 30 languages including Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, Spanish and French. D-ID says the new AI video technology could help customers save on localization costs when scaling their campaigns to a global audience in areas like marketing, entertainment, and social media. “It lets me communicate with my own voice,” says Gil Perry, Co-founder and CEO of D-ID. “With an accessible API and batch translation, you can create multiple videos in a wide range of languages in just one click.”

CropX connects agriculture giant to digital farm management

CropX , OurCrowd’s digital agriculture leader, unveiled a new application programming interface between the CropX agronomic farm management system, Case IH, and New Holland Agriculture equipment (NYSE: CNH). Iowa farmers get affordable health insurance using TytoCare

Landus, Iowa’s largest farmer-owned collective, is offering a new farmer-focused health coverage policy using a remote diagnostic kit from Qure portfolio company TytoCare , Lisa Foust Prater reports for Successful Farming . Those enrolled in the policy, offered through Landus Health and Conduit Health, will receive a TytoCare stethoscope, thermometer, and special digital camera that enables healthcare providers to remotely examine patients. “We listened to our farmers,” says Matt Carstens, Landus and Conduit President and CEO. “There have not been affordable health coverage options out there for them without a member of their family finding a job away from the farm. Study: InsideTracker improves heart health, cuts diabetes risk
