Invent The Change October Impact Summary

2022 has been packed with inspiration and impact! From the finale of my debut as a STEM TV Show host to explaining how they make imaginary movie characters look so real and lots of "mind-blown" facial expressions from youth during our "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" live tour.... here are some highlights of the STEM impact in October!

"It's Not Magic, It's Science!" Live Tour Takes Over Houston!

We've taken the magic behind the science on the road for a live show that's as entertaining as it is educational! Our 4th stop on the tour was Houston, TX hosted at a bilingual elementary school?and presented by?Cheetos and Bad Bunny's Deja Tu Huella fund. 150 students benefited from the live performance at the school and took home an "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" experiment kit (in English or Spanish)!

TWO New Mystery Science Lessons!

As a Mystery Guide for Discovery Education's Mystery Science I help kids stay curious by creating better explanations for millions of students! The first ten years of life are the years of peak curiosity. These are the years when children form habits of thinking that will live with them for the rest of their lives. This month I answered elementary school student Elena and Jasmine's questions: How do some people get so good at sports? and How do they make imaginary movie characters look so real?

PBS TV Show Make48 Season 5 Winners Announced!

Season 5 of?Make48 ?on?PBS with new host?Jay Flores has reached it's finale! The show is an exciting 48 hour innovation competition in which 8 teams from across the country competed to design the newest innovation in STEAM toys! The teams were supported by expert makers and industry specialists that guided them on their journey from napkin design to a working prototype! You can still stream the entire season on?PBS.org ! No spoiler here, but make sure to watch before our November update!

Changing How Students Feel About Math

Our mission is to change the world by inspiring young minds to keep doing cool things with STEM! In for this to be possible we must mathematically equip all students to solve the world’s most challenging problems. ST Math is our partner of choice in making this possible!
