Invent The Change June Highlights

Invent The Change June Highlights

2022 has been packed with inspiration and impact! From serving as the keynote speaker for the Johnson Controls Global Tech Challenge to awarding $1,000 to an all-girls robotics team, to the first live performance of "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" at Invention Convention US Nationals... here are a few highlights from June!

"It's Not Magic, It's Science!" Live Tour!

One of the most innovative brands in STEM education is now going on the road for our first in-person live performances! Thanks to support from Ford Motor Company we hosted our first live show at the Invention Convention US Nationals! After a successful show in Detroit I want to officially take the "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" live performance keynote on the road! Below are our current target cities (subject to change based on presenting sponsors).

I hope to impact 200-500 youth per event and also include a parent component to encourage family math and science support. Students and families will enjoy the supersized experiments in a magic show style performance! Each student will also receive an "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" kit to bring the mind-blowing science home with them! I'm looking for presenting sponsors in each city that want to provide this?#STEM?engagement opportunity to K-8 youth in their community! If you want to bring the science behind the magic to life in your city contact us!

Qualified for the American Ninja Warrior Semifinals!

I’m heading to Los Angeles!!! I'm so blessed to be able to call myself an American Ninja Warrior semi-finalist during my rookie season! ?????????? My semifinals episode will air Monday July, 18th!

I’m bummed that we didn’t receive any airtime in the qualifier but so happy to have had the opportunity to bring?FIRST?to the big stage! In my opinion the students absolutely stole the show with their robots! We had the Team Appreciate robot on stage when I made my entrance and the all-girls team Elektrabots drove their robot down the sideline with my wife and parents! They brought the robot to life by having it do donuts every time I completed an obstacle ????

I ended up making it all the way to the 5th obstacle “Salmon Roll” right before the warped wall! Although, I didn’t hit a buzzer I made it far enough fast enough to advance to semifinals in Los Angeles!! My semifinals episode will air on Monday, July 18th at 8pm/7pm central on NBC! Tune in on the 18th and follow me on Instagram for more details and all of the behind the scenes content!

Welcome the ElektraBots to the Invent The Change Family

These young women in STEM are heading off to incredible universities where they will be further equipped to solve some of the worlds most challenging problems!

Thanks to YOUR purchases of the Invent The Change shirt I wore on my American Ninja Warrior debut we were able to award the team $1,000! ??

Your contributions to this?FIRST?Robotics Competition team who has struggled to find sponsors will allow us to change more lives and inspire more young ladies towards success similar to Stefany, Miamor, and Isabella! Thank you! ????

As the ElektraBots say: “A woman’s place is in robotics!”

We were so proud of the team and they were so grateful that we made the decision to continue committing ALL profits from our STEM Shop to increasing access and diversity in STEM via youth robotics. Whether you want an Invent The Change shirt to wear during my Ninja Warrior semifinals debut or want a STEM mug as a gift for a friend... know that you are also helping us make a significant impact on youth in STEM with your purchase!

Inspiring Inventors and Innovators

Our vision is a world where STEM is celebrated and everyone is empowered to invent the change they want to see in the world! I had the honor to inspire and connect with young k-12 inventors at the Invention Convention US Nationals hosted at The Henry Ford museum. The program provides innovation, invention and entrepreneurial learning to inspire youth to identify problems they care about in their communities and develop problem-solving, entrepreneurship and creativity skills for life. These students are not just the innovators of "tomorrow" they are already creating prototypes and applying for patents. I'm excited about the impact these youth will have on our future!

I also had the opportunity to serve as the keynote speaker for the Johnson Controls global Tech Challenge where employees from across the world were challenged to collaborate on the next game changing innovations at the company. This inspiration and collaboration will allow them to better address global challenges in sustainability, security, safety and beyond!
