Cyber Security Review Grant: How Irish SMEs Can Access Funding for Cyber Protection

What is the Cyber Review Grant?

The Cyber Review Grant is a new initiative from Enterprise Ireland and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to help Irish SMEs strengthen their cyber security defences. This initiative gives your organisation access to cybersecurity experts, including Intuity, who will assess your current security posture, identify vulnerabilities, and create a roadmap to improve your defences. The review is tailored to the specific needs of Irish companies, encouraging them to take the next step in their security journey.

What Does the Cyber Security Review Enterprise Ireland Grant Provide?

The Cyber Security Review Grant covers 80% of a fixed €3,000 project cost, providing financial support for eligible companies to enhance their cyber defences.

During the review project, you will receive support from a qualified cybersecurity expert of your choosing. These experts will then:

  • Interview the key personnel in your organisation

  • Investigate your current company practices

  • Review the technical implementation of on-site and cloud software

The expert will provide a report containing actionable recommendations to enhance your cybersecurity, adhering to the best practices outlined by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Most actions will be tailored for direct implementation by your company. Additionally, the report will provide guidance on further industry support and training.

Completing a Cyber Security Review is a required step to apply for the National Cyber Security Centre grant of up to €60,000.

The benefits of Intuity Connect

Intuity Connect is the customer portal from Intuity Technologies designed for all managed IT customers that empowers you to take control of your IT support experience.

Ease of Use

Intuity Connect is designed with user convenience in mind. You can select the ticketing option you need at a time that suits you. Log a ticket for anything not working as it should, make service requests when you need assistance from Intuity in making a change, and view progress on your tickets and add to the conversation with the discussion box:

Availability

Access the portal on any PC at any time, 24/7. Simply navigate to https://connect.intuity.ie/. If you're using Microsoft Teams, we can set up Intuity Connect as a new channel in your Teams environment for even easier access.

Usefulness

Intuity Connect offers so much more than just ticketing. You can check your MS licensing under Usage/Licenses, access FAQs and training materials under University/Courses & Quick Starts, and view your invoices under Account/Invoices all within the portal. You can also access reports under Compliance/Reports, which allows your organisation demonstrate compliance with DORA and NIS 2.

Scalability

Intuity Connect is tailored to meet the specific needs of your organisation. Not all displays are the same for all customers. You will only see the options applicable to your organisation, office, or setup, and you can compare setups for regular users versus admin access.

With Intuity Connect, you have the tools to manage your IT needs efficiently and effectively, ensuring you stay in control and informed every step of the way.

Atlantic Technological University partners with Intuity to enhance the direct application process for students and staff

Atlantic Technological University has made significant advancements in their applications process through a strategic investment in the Microsoft Client Relationship Management platform in partnership with Intuity Technologies. This advancement will enable the University to improve relationship management between ATU and the 15,000+ people that apply directly to the University each year, outside the CAO system. Applications are managed directly for Online, Flexible Learning and Professional Development courses, Add-on Programmes, Springboard+.

ATU have appointed West of Ireland IT service provider Intuity Technologies, headquartered in Ballybrit, Galway as their development partner for a 6-year programme.

The partnership is focused on improving the entire direct application journey from the initial student enquiry to the application, offer, acceptance and registration stages providing simplified application pathways. The system is being rolled out across all campuses and University application routes. The new systems will improve both student and staff experiences by reducing the administrative effort and timelines along with providing applicants with more immediate and accurate information as they progress through the application and enrolment process.

Intuity Seasonal Change Freeze ??

Intuity are planning a seasonal change freeze for all Intuity promoted changes from Monday, 16th December 2024, through to Friday, 3rd January 2025, inclusive.

During this period, we will not be planning any changes or updates to your networks, systems, or for any projects.

Our rationale is to ensure stability during the Christmas period when, traditionally, our organisation and yours are not running at full capacity.

This is in place also as a control to manage risk and keep your business systems stable and available during this duration.

Don't worry, we will be back at full capacity from Monday, 6th January.

Intuity will continue to monitor your systems as per agreed SLAs throughout the holiday period.

If there are any changes or adjustments that you wish to make in December, please ensure they are addressed with your account manager prior to Monday, 16th December.


Microsoft Billing & Pricing Updates

Microsoft recently announced updates regarding flexible billing for Microsoft 365 Copilot and pricing for annual subscriptions, which can be found here.

In summary, Microsoft has announced the following:

  • Flexible Billing for Microsoft 365 Copilot: Starting December 1st, customers can choose monthly billing for annual term subscriptions of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which will be priced 5% higher than the annual billing option
  • Standardised Monthly Billing Prices: From April 1st, 2025, all new and renewing subscriptions with an annual commitment and monthly billing will see a 5% price "update" (increase). Annual billing subscriptions will maintain current pricing.
