INTRODUCTION TO TIME MANAGEMENT

...We all have 24hrs no matter where we are: in space or on the planet Earth. The entity called Time does not change... lummyx

Time is a constant in our lives and everyone has the same measure. Hence, managing Time is essential.

Time is a constant in our lives and everyone has the same measure.

Time Management is a major aspect of Project Management. Unless a team is making a forever product where quality and features are always changing and nothing seems to stick, then the team can throw away Time Management into the bin.

Time Management refers to the way tasks are organized in a team

You do not want to keep the Customer eternally waiting for their product to be delivered to them. If you do, then you have to also be prepared to wait, eternally, to be paid for the work you are doing for them. In an Agile environment, Time Management is very essential to customer satisfaction. And customer satisfaction is everything in Project management. Good Time Management helps in completing more tasks in a short period.

SOME TIPS FOR EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT

...Being busy is not the same as being effective…and meeting a target does not mean good/optimal efficiency

  1. In Time Management, it is about working smarter not harder
  2. Celebrate the little wins but do not let all you celebrate be little wins; do your utmost to get the big wins too and celebrate them
  3. It is essential to prioritize the task and choose those with high priority and severity first
  4. You will finish more tasks when you do them one at a time. Multitasking always has a negative effect on Time Management
  5. Everyone communicates but some with few words. It is essential to learn how to communicate effectively with your Stakeholders. Analyze your Stakeholders and determine which mode and level of communication they prefer
  6. Clearly state how you feel concerning a project. And this is better than the team guessing what is going on with you
  7. No matter how good you are, you still have just 24hrs in a day. Know your limit
