Introduction

Sir Isaac Newton, often considered as one of the greatest scientists of all time acknowledging the work done by his predecessors, once said: “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulder of giants”. That is how science evolves.

The pinnacle of scientific achievement is considered to the Nobel – and unlike the Peace Prize, it rarely generates any controversy because the quality of science is always great! It is a different matter altogether that the impact and implication of the work done by these fine men and women is often lost to the public at large. Through this series of articles, we will correlate stuff that we see around us, events that we read about - to some of the underlying science & the Nobel Prize winning work in that area that made it possible.

Ours, will of course, be just one of the many use cases you will find for the technology but I am hoping it will nonetheless give you an appreciation of the science & maybe interest some of you to go much deeper into the subject.

The masthead and the illustrations are by my brother, Pratik. ?An architect by profession, he loves to draw and I am delighted that he will contribute a piece to each of the articles.

Our first edition will be out on 1st January 2025 & we will try and publish every fortnight. Hope you enjoy it.?
