Introduction of the Potters Poultry TURNKEY package!

Introduction of the Potters Poultry TURNKEY package!

In late 2021, Potters Poultry made the bold decision to begin on a journey. A journey that would see the company take a step into unchartered waters.

Potters have long supplied their own poultry equipment and 'point of lay' pullets, but would now move into the ever-growing "turnkey" marketplace.

With UK-based manufacturing capability already in place and the advantage of long-term strategic partners, Potters began to formalise a construction offering.

With the appointment of new director Tom Simpson, Potters added building and project experience to its ranks and embarked on securing our first project. Four weeks later and the first Potters Poultry turnkey project was agreed upon.

Tom set about appointing a specialist civils contractor and a few weeks later, the earth was moved and the project had begun.

In combination with the client, a build specification was agreed upon that would suit the specific requirements of a turkey-rearing enterprise. Armed with this, Potters put together a full construction, ventilation, feeding, drinking, and heating package and ensured the agreed budget was adhered to.

The farmer's experience with certain brands dictated the inclusion of a number of specific products. This was made possible by Potter's global buying network and ensured further supply chain links could be avoided.

Experience had shown us that site labour was a premium cost and needed to be kept to a minimum. With this in a mind, a building was designed that arrived on-site in complete panel format and pre-clad internally. Utilising the quality-controlled factory environment made available to us by our strategic partner, Harlow Timber Group.

Within just a few weeks, we had completed the build and began the installation of the internal equipment and electrical works.

Utilising our very own install team, the transition between trades was seamless and left nothing to interpretation.

A clear build schedule was agreed upon, leaving time for commission and wash out, before handover and chick placement.

With a taste for success, we now move onto our next project and works begins on the full supply of a commercial laying unit later this summer.
