Introduction to our Research & Innovation Department

Good quality relevant research is vital for the whole of the health and care system. Research can offer service users and staff access to new treatments, improvement in services or pathways and greater job satisfaction.

The Research and Innovation (R&I) department aim to support staff to have an awareness of research skills and use this knowledge to enhance the patient experience and services we offer. The department is led by Ruth Lambley-Burke, Director of Research and Innovation, the executive Trust lead is Dr Abid Khan, Medical Director. The department has a wide range of functions with the aim of developing and delivering high quality research and supporting staff to embed research in their work.
