Introduction to the Fourth Industrial Revolution

 I have decided to write this article a while ago, to tell you guys a little bit of what I have been doing in the past 24 months.

I have invested this time to develop some projects online and to tell you the truth I am fascinated on how the world has changed. It is amazing to see the new ways of making business.

The way in which we live nowadays has changed, we are living, the 4th industrial revolution, as it is known to be.

Apps

If we go a few years back, we can recall that we used to call a taxi, now we call an Uber. New generations will not know now what a taxi is. Can you imagine in 5 years’ time a teenager asking someone “what did you use to work on?” and the other person replying “well I was a taxi driver” and the teenager saying “what’s a taxi driver?”, “it is taking people from one place to another with your car”, “oh basically you where an UBER driver”, “no, actually it was called a taxi driver”.

Streaming

Cable services like DIRECTV are disappearing, people are not waiting any special hour to see their favorite show, or signing a long and horrible contract for one year, instead, they are paying only $7.99 a month to Hulu or Netflix to see it at any time, at any place, their favorite show or movie, and even better still, they do not commit to any contract, just terms and conditions which may be an easier way.

If you are wondering why many stores are closing down, like Target, JC Penney or Macy’s among others, it is not because there is something wrong with the economy in the USA, it is because people have changed the way they buy goods, everybody buys online now.

 Without even noticing the world has changed, the speed of development is getting faster every day and our way of living is completely new.

Amazon has a new service called Amazon Prime Now that allows you to buy goods, like milk, eggs, vegetables among others and you can get them at your house in the same day.

When you wanted a pizza, you needed to call the store, and now it is as simple as going into your smartphone find the app and order the pizza, even better still, you can know the name of who is making the pizza and how long it is going to take to be on your table!

Does it sound like a science fiction movie? But let me tell you folks this is the present time, it is actually happening.

 There are plenty of apps to find whatever you are looking for. You can see the ratings and reviews from people that had already lived that experience of eating in a restaurant, buying a product and so on, to find exactly the one that is preferred as best.

The world has change and let me tell you one of the many reasons, it is just too annoying when someone tries to sell you something that you are not looking for, or receiving calls from call center trying to do marketing. This is not useful anymore, if people are not finding what they need, they will not buy. And this is where we start surfing the wave, some people in the world are buying exactly what they need, or what they are looking for, and that search is made online. This is the key to everything, you will not go to the yellow pages anymore, what on earth is that !!, people will go online!

Question needed to be asked nowadays are: 

1. Can your products be find online easily?
2. Do you know how buyers make the online research to find you? And your product?
3. Do you have a web page that allows people to find exactly what they need or what you are selling?
4. Do you have any idea on how google indexes your information from your site so that people can find you easily?

Online Startups

This is a fact, if your business is not online, you simply don’t exist. Today you must be online, if not you are searching in old business model.

one million of web sites exist today, half a million were register in the past 12 month! See that, new business model, and of those one hundred and fifty million are already activated.

But do you know? They are not enough, everybody, every professional, everyone that has a service need to have a web page. Why? Because this way is easy to show what you can do, what you sell, what you teach among others. you have to let the world know that you exist.

Whenever you have a doubt to generate your web page, just remember this, when you are with a group of friends chatting and someone asks something, the first answer from a millennial would be “have you already checked that Google”? they may even, look up for the information and send you the link. Wouldn’t you feel upset about it?

So just remember whenever someone wants to look up for information or find about someone it you could be the first result their find in their search.
