- First--Introduction to development history
Vacuum packaging technology for plastic bottles originated in the 1940s. Since the commercial packaging of polyester and polyethylene plastic films in 1950, vacuum packaging technology has developed rapidly. China's vacuum packaging development in the early 1980s, although later than developed countries in Europe, but with the rapid development of vacuum packaging in China, vacuum packaging technology is also continuously improving.
Vacuum packaging technology was first applied to food packaging, and then gradually introduced into the pharmaceutical packaging and cosmetics packaging industry. In the initial stage, the vacuum packaging technology of cosmetics is basically controlled by foreign-funded enterprises. In the late 1990s, China's cosmetics vacuum packaging began to enter a period of rapid development, and related domestic companies have sprung up like mushrooms.
- Second-- Classification and working principle of vacuum pumps and bottles
The selection of cosmetic packaging basically includes five factors: product compatibility, seal integrity, barrier integrity, appearance appreciation, and physical properties in circulation. The integrity of the seal (i.e., the air tightness of the package) is particularly important because the active ingredients in most cosmetics are highly volatile compounds, and many natural ingredients are susceptible to discoloration upon exposure to air. High-end brands choose vacuum packaging not only for aesthetic reasons. Many high-end brands have advanced skin care formulas that have specific requirements for vacuum packaging and therefore require optimal protection.
The vacuum pump and the bottle body need to be easily evacuated, the distribution of the liquid distribution is uniform and uniform, and the internal space is reduced as the material body is reduced, the entry of the outside air is isolated, and the appearance of the package is beautiful. Consumers can distribute the products in the package at any position and angle, achieving 360 applications without dead ends.
In practical applications, vacuum pump and bottle systems can be divided into three major categories.
1.Piston vacuum system
This system is the most widely used one among the existing vacuum pumps and bottles. A piston is installed inside the bottle body to create a closed space between the head and the head. The material is stored in this space, and the head is pressed by pressing the vacuum pump. The vacuum state is generated in the space, and the external atmospheric pressure is used to push the piston to move, thereby distributing the discharge body through the vacuum pump outlet hole. The key point of this technology is the cooperation between the piston and the bottle wall: the piston and the bottle wall can not be too tight or too loose, too tight, the piston can not move and the liquid can not be pumped out, too loose is prone to leakage. Therefore, it is limited by variations in the shape of the package, and is often in the form of a very regular package such as a circle or an oval. The structure of the product is shown in Figure 1.
2. Tube vacuum system
This system evolved on the basis of ordinary tubes, replacing the original cover with a vacuum pump head. By pressing the vacuum pump to press the head, a vacuum state is generated inside the tube, and the outer wall of the tube is pressed and deformed by atmospheric pressure, thereby distributing the discharge body through the vacuum pump outlet hole. Because the tube wall is compositely stretched from multiple layers of materials, it has a certain strength, and the suction and sealing requirements of the vacuum pump head are relatively high. This system can be said to be a combination of the two, that is, has a hard appearance and a soft inner liner. The liner material can be PE, aluminum bag, and the like. It dispenses the discharge body, which is similar to the tube vacuum system and is not described here. As shown in Figure 3.
The same way, the existence of different vacuum system structures must have its desirable side. Of course, each structure cannot be masked and can adapt to an infinitely changing environment. Before determining the system structure of the vacuum pump and the bottle body, relevant preliminary research work, such as the viscosity of the material body, the environment of use, compatibility with the material body, etc., must be done.
- Third--Vacuum pump and bottle making process and secondary processing
In addition to the hygienic requirements of environmental sanitation, vacuum pumps and bottles must pay special attention to the stability and reliability of packaging. It is particularly worth mentioning that in order to achieve attractive aesthetics, cosmetic packaging must undergo secondary processing such as screen printing, thermal transfer, electroplating, and UV spraying. Here, we will not talk about the compatibility of the raw materials used in the secondary processing with the material or plastic materials, and it is very difficult to control and protect the size and appearance of the parts after secondary processing. In addition to the stable secondary processing technology control, it is also necessary to carry out the dimensional classification control of the plastic materials for different secondary processing processes in the injection molding stage, and the sufficient protection of the packaging for each process.
- Forth--Vacuum pump and bottle material classification
There is no specific procedure for the selection of raw materials for vacuum pumps and bottles. Mainly in the packaging development stage, according to the customer's requirements for the product to make the choice of materials.
For the time being, the plastic raw materials commonly used in vacuum bottles have the following:
1. Highly transparent material (PMMA, AS, MS, MABS, PET, PETG, etc.);
2, semi-permeable material (PP, LDPE, LLDPE, silica gel, etc.);
3, solid color material (ABS, HDPE, rubber, etc.).
With the advancement of science and technology and the improvement of people's living standards, all walks of life attach great importance to green environmental protection, and the cosmetics packaging industry is no exception. In recent years, recyclable PP vacuum bottles have been developed very mature. Biodegradable raw materials such as PET are also hot. This kind of raw material has good chemical resistance, but it is very sensitive to mold and molding process, especially for wall thickness products.
- Fifth--Development trend of vacuum pumps and bottles
At present, vacuum packaging is the leader in the entire cosmetic packaging market, and the vacuum packaging market is clearly led by vacuum pumps and bottles, and today's vacuum systems can deliver high-end and enhanced value to the brand.
Vacuum pumps and bottles are more environmentally friendly (there are two ways: one is to choose a more environmentally friendly raw material; the other is to reduce the number of parts that make up the entire product and minimize the weight of the package), and there are other New trends.
In terms of multi-purpose, double-layer bottles, double-head bottles and other skin care products and vacuum pump skin care products are rapidly emerging, such as double-head bottles (one vacuum pump, another ball, powder box, etc.).
In terms of packaging texture, it is also gradually changed from a single-layer vacuum bottle to a double-layer bottle to highlight the layering and high-grade feeling of the package. For example, the outer transparent material outer body is matched with the solid inner inner bottle, and the second secondary processing is performed on the two bottles respectively. Another example is the solid color bottle with the transparent material inner bottle, which fully exerts the secondary processing performance of the outer bottle, and shows the inner beauty through the opening of the outer bottle.
