Introduction to the Brazilian Thermoplastic Resins Market and the Circular Economy Concept

Today I am here to challenge myself again because I will write and publish my first article in English. I believe that to create magnetism, synergy, reverberate in the other and inspire new behaviors, this content needs to have beginning, middle and message.

My target audience are people passionate about marketing, sales, excellence in service, purpose and creativity and who work in the market for thermoplastic resins.

As a professional, I believe that we have the role of valuing the plastic, promote the sector and its competitiveness, as well as technological advances focused on sustainability

For Brazil, the progress of this industrial activity causes a multiplier effect and is important because it brings numerous economic and socio-environmental benefits.

The concrete implementation of the circular economy in the production chain is at the top of corporate priorities for the coming years. We have to change the culture and prepare the sector for the new reality that is gradually towards effective results.

Circular economy, conscious production and consumption require new applications of plastic material, which should transformed, and lead to innovations in both raw materials and products as well as technologies, processes and business models. We have to keep plastic products - including those that use recycled content as the best solution for many of the human needs and integrate the plastic material to the new demands and market trends.

The Circular Economy replaces the concept of extracting, producing, consuming and discarding by a economy that is restorative and regenerative, modifying business models from the extraction of new resources to the generation of post-use rejects.Plastics can be molded into unlimited shapes and can be modular, reusable and recycled to be reintroduced into production processes.

Challenges and Opportunities:

The main challenge of the sector is to give circularity to products of short life. At the same time they are complex products, used for: avoid waste before consumption, increase the useful life of the product, reduce waste of water and the emission of greenhouse gases is necessary to advance and ensure that the circularity of the products to be reintroduced to the production process into high value added applications.

Plastics circularity opens up great ways to increase traceability and recyclability so that industry can add value to its product, leading these products to positive impacts on the industrial ecosystems.

Congratulations for this first and great text Roberta, in the moment that plastic is faced as part of the problem you called the attention of all of us that in fact it has been for decades part of the solution, lighter, cleaner, cheaper and much more easy and less energy demanding to recycle than any other material within our modern life, so, it’s really sustainable. Very good
