1. I was disappointed in myself when doing this drawing, not at first, but throughout the rest of it because I think I hated doing it. I was happy when I began the project, but when I took the time to finish it I was miserable and glad it was over. Funny thing is, I don’t know if I started out in a bad way or got that way during the project.

I remember being ill postured in that I wasn’t seated high enough, I had poor lighting, my paper wouldn’t iron out and I left my pencil sharpener at home so I had to use my eyeliner sharpener and I was just a jerk. It is funny to me now that I am home and reflecting. I was surprised at how hard it was to correct mistakes in the drawing and how easy it was to make them. I could tell that my lines and arches and such were different that the Xerox copy, but I found it difficult to make them proper.

2. I didn’t think about negative space when doing this drawing, and it certainly helped me improve Dude’s hands.

(I didn’t really try to improve his hands.) This assignment was upside down, and blind. I drew two centimeter incremented lines across the page so as I revealed more of the upside down, covered up drawing, I had some sort of reference point. Now, this is my favorite drawing. It’s shitty, but I got an A+ and congratulations for drawing my first Picasso. I was on the road during this assignment. Irritated in a hotel room with a heavy hand and a bad attitude. Ahh, to reflect. Poor man hands, they are pitiful. ART C101, Cerro Coso Community College, IWV campus and online.
