Introduction to the "Architecting the Backend"

Hi there!?? . I am Oleksii, and here you can find articles about backend development and software architecture. I am trying to provide helpful content not only for people who have recently started their journey into backend development but also for experienced engineers. If you're new to my content and want more articles like this, click the "subscribe" button above or at Substack...

Programming is the art of telling another human being what one wants the computer to do. ― Donald Ervin Knuth

Introduction

I want to start this newsletter with a series of articles about concepts in the backend development. It will be helpful for new graduates or current students to extend their knowledge into specifics of backend development, as well as for experienced engineers who want to learn or get into backend development.

The concepts I will cover are language agnostic, so it does not matter what language you know; you can follow and learn new. In articles, I will use Java/Kotlin or pseud-code examples, and in the linked GitHub repository that you can find at the end of the articles, there will be a fully functional code to try yourself.

Articles Agenda

I plan to combine theory articles with a practical implementation so everyone can play around and try to run it. All libraries and tools I intend to use are open-source. I will provide a docker-compose file when multiple components are involved to simplify setup, detailed documentation and a Readme file for every article.

Feel free to let me know if this interests you or if there are any suggestions or additional topics you would like me to cover as part of this series of articles.

That's such a fantastic initiative, Oleksii! The bi-weekly newsletter format sounds like a great way to gradually build up the course content. I'm excited to see how "Architecting the Backend" unfolds and expands to cover more topics in backend development and software architecture. Your willingness to seek feedback and engage with your audience is admirable. ?????? #BackendLearning #SoftwareArchitecture #ExcitedForMore
